Green Team Power Mission

Our Mission

At GreenTeamPower, we are committed to creating a sustainable future by educating, empowering, and collaborating with individuals, organizations, and governments. Our mission is to promote renewable energy education, corporate sustainability, and advocacy, while bringing people together to research and design solutions for environmental and societal challenges. Through our educational outreach, campaigns, and public commenting on critical local, national and international issues we aim to build an informed and empowered citizenry that can drive positive change in our communities and beyond.

Who we are

GreenTeamPower is an organization whose mission is to spread awareness and increase literacy about the environmental, health, and economic benefits of Renewable Energies, document technological advancements, and promote sustainability within our communities. We provide free workshops and presentations to various high school students, both at their high schools and various youth organizations. We also educate and help individuals to understand environmental issues and to engage in future problem solving and action.

There are 81 existing oil refineries in the US.
They unleash over 1.5 billion pounds of pollution annually
Over 2/3 of oil refineries are located in areas dominated by
low-income people or people of color.
And the dirtiest oil refinery is right here in California: the Chevron El Segundo Refinery.
Not only are oil refineries an existing problem, but projects to fuel their destructive effects are ongoing worldwide.

Climate Activism and Youth

It is crucial for youth to learn about renewable energy, engage in climate activism, understand policy, and advocate for environmental justice.

Firstly, renewable energy is the future, and by learning about it, youth can actively participate in building a sustainable and clean energy system.

Climate activism empowers young individuals to raise awareness, demand action, and influence decision-makers to prioritize environmental concerns.

Understanding policy is essential for navigating the complex landscape of environmental regulations and effectively advocating for change.

Lastly, environmental justice ensures that marginalized communities are not disproportionately impacted by environmental issues.

By learning about these topics, youth can become informed and empowered agents of change, working towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

Beyond education and Learning

Youth climate activism represents our passionate and determined efforts to address the urgent issue of climate change.

We recognize that the current trajectory of environmental degradation threatens our future and that of generations to come.

As youth climate activists, we actively engage in activities such as protests, strikes, awareness campaigns, and lobbying for policy changes.

We raise our voices, demanding immediate action to mitigate the impacts of climate change and transition to a sustainable future.

Through our activism, we aim to hold governments, corporations, and institutions accountable for their contributions to climate change.

We strive to inspire and mobilize our peers and communities, fostering a collective sense of responsibility and urgency in combating climate change and preserving the planet for future generations.

What do we do?

At GreenTeamPower, we create content and educational material tailored for various age groups.

We host learning events in communities, including local neighborhoods, libraries, community centers, schools, and national/international youth organizations.

Our focus is on providing free workshops and presentations to high school students, both at their schools and youth organizations.

We utilize visual tools like Climate Interactive’s En-Roads Simulation to demonstrate the need for systemic policy change in addressing climate change.

Additionally, we design engaging activities such as oil spill simulations and pollution uptake modeling by plants to promote environmental awareness and hands-on learning.

We also educate individuals on environmental issues and empower them to engage in problem-solving and action through opportunities like the Student Ambassador Program, local internships, and participation in local public commenting and climate actions.

We support youth in organizing small projects in their neighborhoods and assist with brainstorming, sharing examples, creating flyers, connecting with policy makers, and drafting public comments.

Our focus on systemic change and youth advocacy enables students to become agents of change, while our activities ground them in real-world environmental problems.

We offer engaging and interactive learning activities suitable for all age levels.
